We were delighted to welcome Aoife Dilworth, Conor Lynch and Nigel Troy from Tesco to The Crann Centre and show them Ireland’s First fully Accessible Playground and Leisure Area at Crann Co Cork. Tesco’s Midleton store fundraiser for Crann and their support has been fantastic!

They met with Fundraising Manager Evelyn Power, Chief Executive Padraig Mallon, Head of Services Colette Cahill and Mary-Rose, Community and Networks Programme Manager.

As Mary-Rose explained, “We would like to say a huge thank you to The Tesco Community Fund, all the wonderful Tesco shoppers and staff for their generous support raising a whopping €3698.98 and taking the time to back this groundbreaking project.”

Crann clients like Isobel Twomey, who voted in the Midleton Tesco store earlier this year got to enjoy the benefit of her blue token when she attended the official opening of the playground recently with her mum Rowena, along with the many more families and children that will get to enjoy the speed, movement, imagination and risky play in a fully wheelchair-accessible environment for many years to come with thanks to the help from partners like Tesco.

The Playground is open to children, adults and families with neuro-physical disabilities who are registered clients of Crann, their families and invited guests.
