Pat McDonnell Paints, Ireland’s leading supplier of paints, wallpaper, wood care and accessories for retail, trade and wholesale bring a splash of colour to the unique Pirate ship at the Crann Centre’s Accessible Playground & Leisure Area.

Pat McDonnell Paints have kindly sponsored the paint needed for the final stages of our accessible Playground and Leisure Area and the wood stain required for protecting the jewel in the crown, our accessible Pirate ship.

Marketing Manager with Pat McDonnell Paints, Bernadette Boyle explained, “We are delighted to be able to support The Crann Centre in providing this fully inclusive playground – hopefully it will become the first of many nationwide. We donated 40 litres of Dulux Weathershield along with 190 Litres of Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus which we will keep the pirate ship seaworthy for many a year!”

Crann Chief Executive Padraig Mallon thanked all at Pat McDonnell Paints, “We are so grateful for this generous support. Our pirate ship is very unique, not only in being fully accessible but also because it is fully handmade. Volunteers have spent hours hand-finishing this stunning piece, which will help children and adults to experience the joys of risky play and now this donation will mean the ship will be best protected from all the elements.”

Our fully accessible Playground and Leisure Area will be a place where children, teens, adults and families living with neuro-physical disabilities can learn and play together.
