Crann has proudly signed a community partnership agreement with University College Cork (UCC) aimed at evidencing the impact of our 2Gen Model of Care while also advancing care at Crann for families living with neuro-physical disabilities through engaged research. The evidence generated by the collaboration with UCC will influence the wider application of a 2Gen approach across clinical, social, economic and other disciplines to shift the system for the disability sector both in Ireland and across the world.
Teresa Eckrich Sommer, Research Professor at Northwestern University is a leading scholar in the two-generation field. She brings her vast experience designing and building research-practice partnerships to study pressing issues in education and social policy. In collaboration with Crann, Prof. Sommer will advise on Crann’s engaged research strategy to evidence the impact of our 2Gen Model of Care amongst other projects.
Since 2017, The Crann Centre and Riley Children’s Hospital, have worked together in a binational partnership to plan services, conduct research, and develop the skills of team members in both the United States and Ireland. There is a shared mindset and culture of collaboration, innovation, and a genuine commitment to creating improved outcomes for children and adults with a neuro-physical disability.
