The Paediatric Occupational Therapy programme at Crann provides assessment and personalized support in key developmental areas to help children achieve their optimum level of independence, with our experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Sarah Kennington.
Our training programmes are designed to incorporate elements of our 2Gen Model of Care, providing a comprehensive care plan for your child that involves you as parents/caregivers, at each stage.
Paediatric Occupational Therapy can support children by:
At your first Paediatric Occupational Therapy appointment, Sarah will assess your child’s baseline functional skills. This may include the use of psychometric and functional assessments, play-based observation and parent interview. We will explore you and your child’s goals and establish a suitable goal-focused therapy plan. Occupational Therapy intervention is goal-directed and may include individualized 1:1 sessions, groups or parent education sessions.
Skills on Wheels is our in-house wheelchair training programme to support manual and power wheelchair users to improve access to their environment and increase independence.
It is provided on 1:1 and in group/camp courses. Parental education is an integral part of this programme, to extend what is learned at Skills on Wheels into the real world.
