Merck supports disability-inclusive play with €5000 donation

Crann was delighted to welcome Kamila Jakubowska-Switaj today as she presented a cheque for €5,000 for our Accessible Playground & Leisure Area.

It was a pleasure to show Kamila the work in progress at the space. She got a first-hand glimpse at some of the landscaping going on at the moment!

Justin Farrell, Crann’s Fundraising Manager said “With it being International Day Of Persons With Disabilities, I wanted to say a huge thanks to Kamila Jakubowska-ŚwitajElaine Kennedy and all the team at Merck Life Science for their support and donation towards our Accessible & Inclusive Playground and Leisure Area.

It was fantastic to have the opportunity to show Kamila the ongoing work on the playground site, and look forward to doing the full tour of our centre, once Covid abates.”

Kamila Jakubowska-Switaj from Merck and Justin Farrell from Crann pose with a giant cheque reading "Crann Centre: €5000". They stand outside the Crann centre main entrance and are surrounded by Christmas decorations and lights.

The contribution from Merck will go towards the €500,000 we’re raising to bring this important space to life.

It is vital that children with disabilities get opportunities to experience the same play experiences as their non-disabled peers to boost confidence, improve their physical health and most importantly to have fun!
