Shining a light on everyday obstacles so that families with neuro physical disabilities can have a brighter, more meaningful and barrier-free future.

Support for families with neuro-physical disabilities becomes the norm and not the exception.

Summer greetings to the wonderful Crann community!

If you are new to my blog, thank you for taking the time to come and read it. I really appreciate it.

If you have been a regular follower of my blog, you might be aware that advocating for families with neuro-physical disabilities has been a huge passion of mine over the last few years. I have always been very open about my journey with a physical disability, and if you can, I would highly encourage you to be open about your journey with a physical disability as well, because I do believe that the more awareness that is created around what it’s like to live within your physical disability, and the everyday challenges that families face, real change can happen.

Unfortunately, as a young adult living with cerebral palsy, infrastructure has been a huge issue for me in terms of accessing employment, volunteering opportunities and contributing to other aspects of society. I love being open about my journey with a neuro-physical disability because I know that my lived experience can create real change.

But I am only one person. I have no doubt that there are a huge number of people with physical disabilities across the country who have the same experiences and thoughts that I do. In order for those in power to realise that the needs of families with neuro-physical disabilities are crucially important, everyone needs to speak up and raise awareness in their local communities.

Together, families can create awareness and create change, and Ireland can become a leader in wraparound support for families with neuro-physical disabilities.
