Fundraising Manager (Grants, Trusts & Foundations & Corporate partnerships)

The Crann Centre CLG

Location: The Crann Centre, Ovens/Ballincollig, Cork

Reporting to:  The Head of Fundraising Marketing and Communications


At the Crann Centre we provide a range of innovative services and supports for children adults and families living with a neuro physical disability. Our services are focussed on, but not limited to, people who have Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Childhood Stroke and Spinal Cord Injury.

Our mission is to implement an evidence based, best practice Model of Care that delivers meaningful outcomes for the children adults and families who use our services and that we continue to empower them throughout the whole of their lives.

We have ambitious plans which will help 100’s of children, adults and families to achieve their goals of better health and wellbeing and to more fully participate in education, leisure, work and life.

The Ruth Lilly Philanthropic Foundation have generously provided the funding for our early-stage development and operations, our focus now is on building a sustainable income model to fund our future.


Role Profile:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, ambitious, results orientated team player with a proven track record in sales, fundraising, or business development to join the Crann Centre at an exciting time in our development. You have an opportunity to develop and implement a strategy which generates sustainable fundraising income for a highly ambitious, early-stage charity.

Our Model of Care delivers a range of services and supports for children, adults and families, our services are highly innovative, we collaborate in Ireland and internationally, we have evidence of our impact and have a number of planned capital projects. This all contributes to us being an attractive proposition for grant makers, impact investors, corporate supporters, and high net worth individuals.


Key responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the corporate partnerships, grants and trust & foundations elements of the fundraising strategy and budget.
  • Achieving ambitious income targets.
  • Working with colleagues to develop innovative sponsorship and programme support opportunities for corporate partners, grant makers, trusts and foundations.
  • Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board Chair/Founder, Head of Operations and Head of Marketing, Communications and Fundraising, to increase our profile and enhance our reputation.
  • Implementing the best donor care management programme which leads to ongoing support.
  • Contributing to the development of the Fundraising strategy and the wider Crann Centre strategy.
  • Maximising the value of our collaboration partnerships.
  • Ensuring that all fundraising activity complies with best practice.
  • Implementing effective evaluation and benchmarking tools to measure performance and support continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to the culture, values, and success of the Crann Centre. 



  • Demonstrable track record of raising funds and in building and maintaining successful long-term relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills with experience in CRM databases, ideally Salesforce
  • Track record of working in cross functional teams.
  • Ability to created tailored proposals and presentations which get results.



  • Understanding of what makes for successful corporate partnerships, successful trust and foundation applications and mutually beneficial relationships with major donors/funders.
  • Educated to degree level or higher.
  • Practical knowledge of the fundraising landscape with an understanding of who gives and why.
  • Track record of Continuing Personal Development



  • Demonstrable ability to deliver personal and team goals and objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proposal/grant writing skills with demonstrable track record of success.
  • Excellent influencing and relationship building skills, ideally gained in the fundraising/corporate sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrable Donor Care/ Customer relationship management experience
  • Excellent reporting skills with a demonstrable ability to use outcome/impact data.
  • Ability to make decisions and take initiative, as part of managing a complex and varied workload.
  • Actively using social and digital media to promote brand awareness. 
  • Creative, flexible character and a generator of new ideas
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, taking a ‘hands-on’ approach to getting things done.
