Adult Life Skills
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Tuesday, repeating until October 27, 2020
The focus of the Independent Living Skills Programme is to learn new skills and develop existing ones needed to be as independent as possible.
Where possible, the course is designed to offer training that meets the needs of an individual in areas which trainees have highlighted as being issues that are most relevant to their lives. The courses are run in small groups and benefit from shared learning experience by actively participating in various tasks.
The course content may include:
- Food preparation
- Cooking techniques
- Weighing and measuring
- Home management including: cleaning, vacuuming, making a bed
- Buying groceries and planning meals
- Opportunities to try out equipment
- Health and wellness
