In 2020 the Crann Centre launches it’s new service plan which includes our popular Turas Soal wheelchair skills training for beginners and intermediate levels. We are also rolling our suite of personal development programmes for children, teenagers and adults to include mentorship and progression pathways to those participants interested in becoming facilitators. We begin the new term with our Breaking barriers Theatre Group which commences Saturday, January 11 at 1pm.
In addition to these programmes, we also have some exciting training and educational events coming up including a talk from Neuropsychologist Sandra Hayes who will be looking at the impact of learning and Hydrocephalus.
In mid January the popular Moment for ME programme for parents of children or adults with additional needs will resume, as well as First Aid Training for parents and a guide to looking after your back.
We also have our Health and Continence Manager Emer Daly joining the team. Emer will be rolling out support and training in the area of continence and allied health areas for children, adults and parents alike.
Early 2020 also sees the launch of our Emotional Support Service which will consist of 1:1 support in the form of counselling, play therapy and family therapy as well as our Uniqueness of Difference and Growing in Confidence group courses for children and teenagers. We will also have sibling workshops coming early Spring as well as some independent living classes and mindfulness and yoga.
