Counselling

At Crann, our trained and accredited Counsellors will work with you over a period of time to help you develop a better understanding of yourself.

Counsellors are impartial and will listen to you without judgement. They won’t tell you what to do but will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes or learning how to cope.

Counselling is time set aside by you and your Counsellor to talk about the issues that have made you seek Counselling. Your Counsellor may offer information but they won’t give their opinions or advice or try to persuade you to a particular point of view.

How Counselling Appointments Work

Counselling sessions are held at an agreed time at the Crann Centre, or online if you have difficulty meeting in person. Online sessions require you to have a space that is private and undisturbed.

Talking about your issues can take time and you won’t cover it all in a single session and at Crann we can offer up to 12 sessions. For oneto-one Counselling a session generally lasts one hour.

Counselling is a safe space. Your Counsellor will listen to you in confidence and will not talk to anyone else about you or about what you say. Protecting a client’s confidentiality and privacy is essential for building trust. However, there are certain circumstances when we may have to break confidentiality, but this will be explained in your first meeting.

Contracts & Boundaries

Your Counsellor will agree a contract with you. The contract will cover:

  • dates and times of session
  • the limits of confidentiality
  • fees and cancellation fees

Please contact your Client Liaison if you would like to discuss or arrange a booking when spaces are available.
