Bon Secours donates funds to purchase play equipment for Accessible Playground & Leisure Area

Bon Secours have kindly donated €8,570.68 to Crann’s Accessible Playground & Leisure Area.

The funds donated will go directly to purchasing a wheelchair accessible trampoline and a wheelchair accessible seesaw! Children with neuro-physical disabilities told us that risky play and height were two elements of play they rarely experienced in playgrounds.

Crann’s Fundraising Manager, Justin Farrell said of the collaboration, “Crann is delighted to partner with Ken and the team at Bon Secours on our Fully Accessible Playground & Leisure Area, through their Community Initiative Programme. This project will be a game-changer for children and families living with neuro-physical disabilities, as there are little or no suitable playgrounds for children with conditions like spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and childhood stroke. It is only through the fantastic support of partnerships like this with Bon Secours that we will be able to reach our fundraising goal and make play accessible to all children.”

Ken Joyce, Head of Mission at Bon Secours Cork said “The management team and the staff at the Bons are all very proud to play even a small role in your efforts to bring a disability-friendly playground to the community in Ovens, where individuals and families can come to enjoy many days of great fun into the future!”

Thank you to the team at Bon Secours!
